Casey's General Stores, Inc. (Casey's) operates convenience stores under the name Casey's General Store, HandiMart and Just Diesel in 11 Midwestern states, primarily Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. The stores carry a selection of food (including freshly prepared foods, such as pizza, donuts, and sandwiches), beverages, tobacco products, health and beauty aids, automotive products and other nonfood items. In addition, all stores offer gasoline for sale on a self-service basis. On April 30, 2011, there were a total of 1,637 Casey's General Stores in operation. There were 20 stores constructed and 89 acquired stores opened during the fiscal year ended April 30, 2011 (fiscal 2011) and two stores were closed in fiscal 2011. Casey's operate a central warehouse, Casey's Distribution Center, through which it supplies grocery and general merchandise items to its stores. In October 2010, the Company acquired six convenience stores in Iowa owned by J.D. Carpenter Companies, Inc.
